Community Supporter Kathy Bridgman

For Kathy Bridgman, little is more important than involving herself fully in the support of her community. An active Los Altos community member since she first made her home there 27 years ago, Kathy Bridgman believes that committing oneself to community involvement is a crucial part of work-life balance.

With her extremely busy schedule, Kathy Bridgman believes that sometimes, getting involved in your community can be tough. Regardless, Kathy Bridgman believes that community support and involvement is crucial for everyone, despite how busy they may be with work or other such commitments. She believes that community involvement can take many forms, from volunteering in your neighborhood to supporting local businesses.

Kathy Bridgman spends much of her time and energy on many organizations in her home city of Los Altos, California. One such organization is the Los Altos Community Foundation, a charitable organization that links community members across multiple generations. Kathy Bridgman is especially devoted to supporting young people in philanthropy through the Los Altos Community Foundation. Her kid friendly approach to community involvement comes largely from her background as a junior high school teacher and curriculum developer in her local school districts.

The Los Altos Community Foundation is also tied to adult leaders in the community. In fact, the foundation focuses many of its efforts on strengthening the non-profit sector in Los Altos. For Kathy Bridgman, supporting non-profit organizations is crucial to her involvement in her home community, because she also works to support such local nonprofit organizations as the Community School of Music and Arts.

Kathy Bridgman would like to urge anyone and everyone to get out in their communities and help out. She believes anyone can help enrich his or her home community, and strongly encourages getting creative! Kathy Bridgman knows firsthand how enriching the arts can be, so if you’re stuck, she recommends starting there, because community involvement isn’t just about work—it’s also about fun.
